“July” is the first single by Chris Hart following his debut album "Anywhere".
"July" is decidedly more of a foray into straight-ahead rock music than my album "Anywhere", marking a shift in sound for the future of my music career.
Another song about inspired by the English weather! Written in the dead of London winter, the concept of “July” is that things will be better when the city thaws out. It’s got huge drums, driving bass with a lot of movement and a lot of electric guitar riffing that explodes after the moody intro.
Drawing inspiration from The Who, Green Day and the Beatles, "July" is about keeping your head up and powering through the worst of it, knowing that something good is waiting on the other side of the cold. I wrote the intro and the rest of the song separately, and I was trying to make my version of "A quick one, while he's away" by The Who. I love harmonies and real raucous rock music so I wanted to combine them into something unique to me.
