“Should've Seen it Coming” is track 7 off the first album “Anywhere” by Chris Hart.

 

This is one of the first songs I ever wrote, and I was really glad that it could fit on this album, since I never really thought I'd produce it. It's a painful song for me and I don't usually perform it. "Should've Seen it Coming" is a truly sad song about growing up without realizing it, turning into your parents (for good or bad), losing touch with your family and yourself, and realizing you aren’t a child anymore. It's about me at a certain point in time, and the feelings got worse after I moved to London.

 

It starts as a folky acoustic strummer that shifts abruptly into a scorchingly heavy rock song at the song’s midpoint. The moment where my realization really sets in. Accompanied by big banging drums, heavy electric guitar chugging and a big emotional guitar solo this song, to me, is the emotional high (or low) point of the record.
